300hr YOGA TEACHER TRAINING

INVESTMENT:  $2800 plus hst or $2500 plus hst (early bird-before Aug. 22nd)

Power Yoga Canada’s 300hr Yoga Teacher Training is designed for you to work towards your 500hr YA Certification. (200hr + 300hr =500hr) Your 200hr Certification is the foundation of your education and is required to participate in this program.  Our 300hr Curriculum is in alignment with YA Credentials which includes a minimum of 130hrs contact with an ERYT Teacher. 

The 300hr Certification is made up of:

  • REQUIRED 200hrs of CORE CURRICULUM (Included in the $2800 Investment)
  • ELECTIVE 100hrs CURRICULUM (Modules that you add up to complete the 100hrs are paid separately)

 LIVING WITH PURPOSE

REQUIRED CORE CURRICULUM DATES for 300hr 2018-2019

The 300hr Yoga Teacher Training participants for the 2018-2019 program are required to participate fully in all of the following weekends: 

  1. September 22-23, 2018  (20hr)  PYC OAKVILLE
  2. October 19, 20, 21, 2018  (40hr) SUGAR RIDGE RETREAT CENTRE
  3.  November 17-18, 2018  (20hr) PYC OAKVILLE
  4.  December 1-2, 2018  (20hr)  PYC OAKVILLE
  5.  February 23-24, 2019  (20hr) PYC OAKVILLE
  6.  May 18-19, 2019  (20hr) PYC OAKVILLE
  7.  June 8-9, 2019 (20hr)  PYC OAKVILLE   
The 300hr 2018-2019 participants are required to Mentor on TWO of these weekends  (40hrs) as part of the assisting team for the Winter Teacher Training program. They will get a real life experience of Team, Collaboration and Facilitation of a live program:

  • March 30-31, 2019 
  • April 7-8, 2019
  • April 27-28, 2019 

To complete the 300hrs hours for certification, you will complete your remaining 100hrs by participating in any of the following Elective Modules.

ASSISTING INTENSIVE TRAINING MODULE (40 HOURS)

The power of touch can awaken, empower and heal the body and spirit. In this two-weekend intensive training, you will learn practical tools that can be applied immediately to your practice and you will discover how to assist each pose in the Journey Into Power sequence.

  • Learn how to effectively and safely assist students.
  • Create authentic connections with others.
  • Be a stand for and a contribution to transformation.
  • The ability to assist classes at Power Yoga Canada.

KIDS YOGA TRAINING MODULE (25 HOURS)

If you have a passion for kids, this training is for you! This training will empower you to play, to discover and to stand in your fullest self-expression. Inspire the next generation of leaders using the powerful tools and techniques of yoga and meditation.

WHAT’S IN IT FOR YOU
  • Find your inner child and embody a sense of playfulness.
  • Drop what you know and get comfortable working with what is right in front of you.
  • Develop lesson plans that keep kids engaged.
  • Learn playful and empowering activities that teach kids powerful tools they can use on and off the mat.
  • Learn how to effectively teach a Little Pretzel class.

TRAUMA SENSITIVE TRAINING MODULE (20 HOURS)

Trauma is a pervasive fact of modern life and can be experienced in many different ways: automobile or other accidents; sudden loss; surgery; assault; even as a first responder or as military personnel. It does not however, have to be a life sentence. How you handle trauma greatly influences the quality of your life and through this module, you will learn how to use yoga, meditation and breathing techniques to heal you of the past.

WHAT’S IN IT FOR YOU
  • Learn how to use specific tools to break the cycle of trauma existing in your body.
  • Gain access to new freedom, confidence and power by resolving reactions to traumatic events.
  • Create new connections with people who have also experienced trauma.
  • Break free from that which is holding you back from living a life you love.

ALIGN MODULE

Interested in furthering your knowledge in the holistic healing side of yoga?  Join Christina Drew, as she blends her knowledge & passion of Physiotherapy and Yoga into a powerful flow.  In this weekend intensive you will learn the Aligned Flow, key anatomy, yoga injuries, and leave with the confidence to lead this class.

WHAT’S IN IT FOR YOU
  • Learn the Aligned Flow® – a yoga class using purposeful asana’s geared towards preventing injuries, building strength in your stabilizers & core to enhance optimal movement, and create balance in your body.
  • Learn the WHY behind each asana
  • Gain knowledge about common injuries in yoga, as well as the anatomy and mechanisms of these injuries.
  • Deepen your yoga practice by applying these asanas and awakening your deep stabilizing and core muscles.

CORPORATE PRIVATE MODULE

Excited about teaching yoga OUTSIDE of the studio and explore our city?  This training is for you.  Last year Your Power Yoga (www.yourpoweryoga.ca)  was born; our sister company that is building our mobile yoga community.   Learn this YPY formula to inspire corporate offices to come back to our home studios to learn more about what we are up to as a community!
