Let’s talk about tapas.
And no, I don’t mean those little Spanish snacks (though I love those too). In yoga, tapas means heat, discipline, transformation.
In every PYC class, you’ll meet your edge. That moment when your legs are shaking, your brain is screaming, and you want to bail. That’s tapas. And it’s where the good stuff lives.
Tapas isn’t punishment—it’s possibility.
It’s the fire that burns away your old stories: “I’m not strong enough.” “I can’t do this.” It challenges you to stay when you want to run. To breathe when your mind wants to quit.
The best part? Tapas isn’t just for your mat.
It shows up when you choose the uncomfortable conversation, when you commit to a daily practice, when you keep showing up for your life even when it’s messy.
Discipline isn’t about rigidity.
It’s about devotion—to yourself, to your growth. It’s saying, “I’m worth the effort.”
Tapas teaches you that transformation isn’t flashy. It’s built in small moments of courage, stacked over time.
So next time you’re in the fire of Chair Pose, smile. You’re not suffering—you’re evolving.
See you on your mat,
Kinndli McCollum
